CALGARY INTER-FAITH FOOD BANK
The Calgary Food Bank is an emergency food distribution hub. They gather and distribute quality emergency food to individual Calgarians and the
agencies that serve them.
They are able to provide food and resources every day because of the dedication and compassion of their volunteers. Every day between 80 and 100
people volunteer at the Food Bank. Last year, more than 4,346 individual and group volunteers gave an incredible 95,948 hours of their time to help
them feed the hungry. For every $1 they receive they can distribute $4 worth of food to hungry Calgarians.
In 2010 VAPC donated food weighing 2315 lbs. The donations consisted of large boxes of cereal, cases of soup, juice, pasta, tea, coffee,
canned fish, peanut butter, egg cartons etc.
