Julie Jacques created The Patio Set in the sumer of 2020; a collection of musicians from the Calgary Wind Symphony; with Julie piano; Mary Hamm clarinet and Terry Shouldice flute. Julie recognized the need for musicians to re-connect with a live audience.
Like a number of ensembles, The Patio Set went out into the community playing over a dozen concerts in cul-de-sacs, parks and patios to great enthusiasm.
The Patio Set distills the joy of many seasons of collborative playing with the Calgary Wind Symphony and various ensembles.
They are passionate communicators with a gift for connecting the music to their audience.
